Im back with news!
No not THAT news (not yet anyway) but news that something is in the works.
So much has happened since I last updated which is why I havent updated. MF and I have decided that buying a property together is something we would like to do so we went looking at houses and saw some nice ones but nothing that made us want to commit. Once talking to our mortgage broker I decided it was best to sell my condo before buying so that is where we sit. Its just been listed and even though its a crap time of year with the snow we have had a few showings so *fingers crossed*.
In other news MF has been talking more about the ring which is interesting although Im one picky girl so I dont blame him for getting some reassurance.
Lets just say Im beginning to take a closer look at bridal websites... Eeeeeeee :)

Ok SO we are doing things a little backwards....
Let's face it this whole blog and process is kinda backwards I mean I haven't even gotten the ring yet and here I am dreaming and planning away right?!
So continuing the trend the MF and I are house hunting!
We have talked about buying a place once we were engaged for a while now but more recently we have decided to actually start looking for several reasons. Since he has made it somewhat clear in a very secretive way (if that even makes sense) that a proposal is right around the corner and we know it may take us a while to find a house we love we felt it was time to start looking.
We have been online for hours searching for houses in this one specific area we have agreed on settling down at and last night we met with a real estate agent to view 2 houses. Both looked amazing in pictures, were in our price range and were in our desired area however upon our in person visit were somewhat disappointing.
The first was priced really well had 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and described as open concept which is a must on our list. When we arrived the home owners and 6 others (I'm guessing family members) greeted us at the door, the lady of the house proceeded to show us around saying "isn't this nice" every 2 minutes. No! It wasn't nice, not at all!! In fact it was horrible I knew from the minute I stepped 2 feet in the door. Pictures can be SO deceiving!
The second house was a lot better and more of the style we were looking for however I couldn't get over how small the kitchen was and didn't see putting another $15000 in renos being worth it. I also think that the fact that we have only begun our search is holding me back from wanting to settle.
So the search continues for our perfect home even though there is a part of me that's hoping the proposal comes first....tick tock tick tock :P

Winter Trash The Dress Ideas
Chances are by the time I get married and arrive back home it will be a winter wonderland here SO I thought of a winter wonderland trash the dress idea. It would involve snow angels, snow ball fights, hot cocoa and maybe even a sleigh ride ;)
In the meantime here are some beautiful and fun inspiration pics.

Ga Ga for Bridal Shoes!
I will be the first to say IF I wore any of these beauties at my wedding they would come off as soon as I got the chance but fashion can be painful I guess so in my pre-pre planning dream world these would be some of my ideal wedding shoes :)

Halloween Wedding Theme
Hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween yesterday.
After hearing about a friend attending a wedding this weekend I thought what a cool idea it would be to have a Halloween wedding... although I don't quite think my fam and friends would go for this idea I still love the idea.
The possibilities are endless take a look.
Think about it, everyone dressed in costume, dancing to MJ's Thriller drinking bats blood and eating witches eyeballs lol... ridiculously fun!

T-Minus 3 weeks Till The Baby!
Not technically my baby BUT my BFF's so kinda mine :)
How on earth did we go from frizzy hair, Micky Mouse over sized sweat shirts, walkmans & Teen mags to flat irons hair, trendy clothes, weddings (hers) and BABIES (also hers)!!! Clearly I have only accomplished 2 of the last 4 items but still we have both come a long way....
I remember the day I found out she was pregnant. The "crew" had finally managed to get together after weeks & months of busy schedules for dinner. After we ate she casually blurted out "SO I'm pregnant"........... whoa WHAT?
While the other girls immediately went into high pitched "oh my gods" and "how far alongs" I needed a minute to digest that my best friend of almost 20 years had life inside of her.Once I realized what was going on I repeated (in a non high pitched voice because Im SO not one of those girls) the "oh my god" and "how far along" questions.
Over the last 6 months I've watched her belly grow, had conversations about our mutual fear of childbirth and had to tell myself NO when it came to buying any and everything cute for the baby.
Its now down to the last stages of pregnancy and it finally hit me last night when, I being the uber anal planner asked her if she had her baby and hospital bags ready to go.
I cant begin to tell you how much I already feel love for this baby girl, how much I cant wait to be her favorite aunt and how happy I am that my bff is going to be a mommy!
*tear*

Why I know He's The One!
I came home from a horrible day yesterday and after venting to MF on the way home I went in put my stuff down and there he was waiting with open arms. He said "come here" buried my face in his shoulder and said "let it out". I balled and balled hard for a good 2 minutes straight. He stayed silent rubbing my back and comforting me without having to say a word.
When I finally looked up, mascara and nose equally running he sat me down and told me that no matter what anyone else thinks he adored me... not just that he adored me but that he adored everything about me. Now normally I would have the old attitude of "yeah ok you HAVE to say that", but it was his watery big blue eyes that were staring back at me that let me know how hurt he was that I was hurting and that he was 100% sincere.
At the end of the day when we finally do sign that paper that says we are married I know its just me and him. The fact that he can make me feel like the most special person in the world with just a comforting ear and perhaps those baby blues is all I could ever ask for.
I came home feeling worthless and I went to sleep feeling like the luckiest woman in the world.
*Le Sigh*

Here I Go Over Thinking Again!
Am I the only one that wonders how she will be proposed to? Now that I have been given the "indication" I can't help but wonder when, what, who, and where it will happen.
Yesterday the MF called to tell me that he has obtained tickets for us to see a concert in January. Nothing weird about that right?
WRONG!
For one, my birthday is in January.... second, this happens to be tickets for one of my favorite acts ever! (I've seen them 4 years in a row).....third, he happens to not particularly enjoy said act.... I know this because when I made him come with me to the concert last year he almost fell asleep!
HmmMmmmm Coincidence or too much time to think?? Guess I'll have to wait till January to see!

My Journey from a Miss 2 a Mrs!
Welcome,
Join me on my start to finish journey to my long awaited BIG day... or in my case days!
Let me start off by telling you a little about us. As the description at the top of this page suggests we are a mixed faith and culture couple. Him being Catholic and from an Irish/Scottish & English decent, me being Muslim and from an East African/East Indian decent. Those aren't the only things that make us unique.... I'm also 5 years older than he is... dun dun dun... Bring it on, Ive heard it all cougar, cradle robber lol its all good and Ill tell you why... He is truly the first man that Ive dated young or old that makes me feel beautiful on my ugliest days, like an angel on my moodiest, worthy when I feel worthless and cheerful when I am sad. If that doesn't say it all I don't know what does!
Anyway we have been together for 1.5 years and have known we were right for each other for perhaps 1.2 of that time. I for one am at an age where Ive dated enough losers (like the one who fell asleep one our first date or the winner that brought his own beer on a date then asked a complete stranger if he wanted to touch my um... "woman parts"... yeah trust me Ive been on dates with some real gems) to know when Ive found someone special so for me this was a no brainer.
I decided to start this blog to document my process and to hopefully provide an outlet for discussion, venting, research & sharing of anything wedding related. As a makeup artist I'm constantly surrounded by brides and I'm here to finally say its my turn!
Ok Ok so I'll admit there's a small hitch, I'm not quite engaged yet... officially that is but I AM a Capricorn and we do like to plan so...
My man friend has given me the indication that things will be official within the next 4-6 months so in the mean time I'll collect photos (ok fine I've been doing this for a while), bookmark cool wedding related websites and blogs and dream of the day I can officially celebrate my ...er I mean our wedding!
Stay tuned for more posts as I do my research planning before the actual planning... geez can you tell I'm a type A personality!
